Red Bulls Fall from Space, 1
On 14th October, 2012 I remember being sat at my computer and watching RedBulls fall from Space, which they were going to see if they could break the sound barrier from a 128k fall. I really thoroughly enjoyed watching this, as it was something that was happening live, and they couldn’t foresee what was going to happen. This fall was performed by Felix Baumgartner, he flew about 39 kilometres into the stratosphere over New Mexico, in a helium balloon before he was performing a free fall in a pressurised suit then parachuting back down to Earth.
The total of the jump from leaving the capsule to landing safely on the ground lasted approximately 10 minutes. While the fall at first was going to last around 5 to 6 minutes. Felix then opened up his parachute after 4 minutes, and 19 seconds. // Reaching towards 1,357.64 KM/h (843.6 mph), Baumgartner broke the sound barrier on his descent.
