- Draw an image three times with varying differences on two of the drawings
- Then scan in the image
- Then in Photoshop, edit the scanned images and crop them at the same height and width.
- Then go to the After Effects and create a new composition at 1920px by 1080px
- Then set the time line to 10 seconds
- Then import files and click JPEG Sequence
- Then click on the sequence and go to file and Interpret Footage, click main and then go to the bottom and select 50 (see screenshot)
- Now the TimeLine should be filled up to 6 seconds with the footage
- To slow down our footage in the TimeLine I used was: make sure I clicked on the timeline footage, then I clicked down on the footage and a menu came up with varies effects etc, I went to time à Time Stretch, and I set that to 200.
- Create a new solid, and make sure it’s the same size as the composition
- Change the background colour if you want too, and then make sure that the colour block (Solid) layer is underneath the main piece of footage.
- Next make sure the main piece of footage is selected and go to Effect à Colour Correction à Hue / Saturation / Pull the first slider to -100
- Then click on the footage again, and go to Effect à Colour Correction à Levels
- The Mode section and click Multiply, it takes the white background off and makes the solid colour, show through like on Photoshop.
- Another piece of effects we can use on our work is going to Effect à Colour Correction à Tint. Here you can change the colour of the black, on mine, I have made it into a deep green colour.
- Next we took the pen tool and drew around the text, however, making sure not too close (by making both points meet)
- Then I went and clicked on my first layer, and went to Effect à Generate à Stroke – I also collapsed down the other effects tools so I could see the stroke drop down menu more clearly.
- After this, I made sure that the ‘All Masks’ tab was selected to make the effect look clearer. Then I also made sure that the colour of the stroke was a much brighter colour than one already used.
- I then made the stroke of the brush the thickness of 10.0 just so that it would go over the original text and be easier to see.
- I went to the beginning of my timeline and selected the ‘End’ stopwatch, pressed the stopwatch to create a keyframe here. I then made sure that the percentage of this was down at 0% then I scrubbed all the way along the timeline to the end and pressed end again, but, this time, made the percentage to 100%.
Next piece we did was go onto Illustrator and design a few vector diagrams, I created a series of love hearts as I already have some on my footage piece.
- I copied one of the hearts and made sure I had nothing selected, I then clicked the pen tool and clicked somewhere on the footage and pasted in my love heart. I then changed the colour of the heart.
- With these, we then went to the drop down menu of the shapes / hearts, I then pressed the little button with the + symbol saying add. Here I then selected wiggle paths. After this, we edited the wiggle path to merge well with the footage.
- To do this, I simply edited the size of the wiggle path to 4 and the detail to 3. I also made sure that the points were smooth.
- Now I have to import some audio onto my timeline, I have to use copyright free music into this. I already have some of these on my laptop already so this is a little easy for me to get. I chose one that I had already got and imported the sound into the timeline, and edited it to fit well with the footage.
